Energize Connecticut’s North Haven showroom will soon have a new exhibit, courtesy of technical high school students from Milford and New Britain.
Energize is a public-private partnership, largely funded by electric and natural gas ratepayers, that offers residential and commercial incentive programs for energy savings.
Energize recently reported that it helped drive more than $86 million in energy savings last year.
Students from E.C. Goodwin Technical High School and Platt Technical High School were at the Energize Connecticut Center working on the display, which is meant to educate residents and businesses about solar energy and financing options, including those offered by the Connecticut Green Bank.
More than 17,000 Connecticut homes have solar panels, according to the Green Bank, and the legislature last year extended incentives for residential installations, which is expected to bolster the industry through 2022.
Energize’s center is located at 122 Universal Drive North in North Haven. Admission is free.
