Taking Leave

Last month, The Phoenix announced it was cutting its work force by 25 percent and eliminating its dividend. But retirement will pay a dividend for Chairman and CEO Dona D. Young.

Young, who announced her retirement last week, will earn $300,000 as an adviser during the company’s management transition.

Young will provide consulting services related to the transition of her “duties and responsibilities,” and will receive the money in two installments, the first on April 15 — her retirement date — and the second on Oct. 15.
