Symetra Life Insurance Co., recently relocated to Enfield, is beefing up its sales-leadership, again courtesy of The Stag.
Three of Symetra’s four new regional sales executive-group life and disability income (DI) managers are former Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. employees — not surprising, perhaps, since The Hartford’s former chief operating officer, Tom Marra, now runs Symetra Life.
Lou Ascanio, who covers North and South Carolina, is a 20-year group insurance industry veteran, who was a group life and DI sales manager at The Hartford. He also is a former regional sales vice president at Cigna Group Insurance. He is based in Charlotte, N.C.
Jake Brower, whose turf is Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, most recently was an account executive at The Hartford. Before that, he held a similar role at Cigna He is based in Indianapolis.
Carl Perry — Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. — has 15 years of insurance sales experience and comes from The Hartford. Prior to 2005, Perry was a senior account executive for The Standard Insurance Company. He is based in the D.C. metro area.
Mark Crisler, covering Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming, joins Symetra from Assurant Employee Benefits, where he was a senior account executive. He previously held sales positions at CNA Insurance and Phoenix Home Life. Crisler is based in the Seattle area.
Symetra Life in March completed its move from South Windsor to 29,000 square feet in Enfield’s LAN Executive Center, 1699 King St.
