Office landlords could save as much as $4.3 billion annually in electricity by illuminating spaces with light-emitting diode fixtures, a report says.
Philadelphia-based GreenandSave cites data that about 736,000 office buildings coverage approximately 12 billion square feet rely on traditional incandescent and fluorescent lighting.
Replacing those with LED fixtures would save $4.3 billion a year and $78.8 billion over the life of the buildings, the organization says.
Conversion would also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 28 million tons a year, or more than 512.5 million tons over the structures lifetime.
