The North American affiliate of Swiss industrial technology manufacturer Baumer Group has purchased a Bristol industrial building used for sales and distribution operations for $2.95 million.
According to a deed recorded Jan. 8, Baumer LTD acquired the 15,367-square-foot office-and-warehouse building on 3.49 acres at 5 Century Drive in Bristol. City records show the brick-and-masonry building was completed in 1992.
Baumer began leasing the property in March 2023 and opted to purchase the building as the lease approached renewal, according to O,R&L Commercial, which announced the sale Tuesday. Mark Berkowitz of O,R&L Commercial represented Baumer in both the lease and the purchase.
Baumer provides standard sensors and customized smart sensors, according to O,R&L.
The deal was completed off market, with Baumer initiating discussions about a potential purchase.
“The owner was willing to sell, and this company wanted to be in Bristol, so it worked out nicely,” Berkowitz said.
