Swisher acquires Hartford area hygiene firm

Lavatory sanitation giant Swisher Hygiene Inc. has acquired assets of five regional hygiene and chemicals firms, including one serving the Hartford aera.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Swisher said it paid a combined $1.06 million for the companies’ assets.

One of them, Chemical Services LLC, doing business as MSF Chemical, serves greater Hartford, Swishe said.

It also acquired New York-based Superior Products & Systems LLC, which covers the upstate New York area.

Superior’s former owner Ed McGrath is joining Swisher Hygiene as is Michael Fienman, former owner of MSF.

Finally, Swisher bought certain assets and customers of H&H Products Inc., Cleanmart LLC and HRE LLC, which are all primarily based in the Southeast.

Swisher’s cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, foodservice and laundry products, and restroom hygiene programs are marketed in the U.S. and abroad.
