New Haven architect-designer Svigals +Partners has been hired to pen the $16.9 million administration building for Charter Oak State College in New Britain.
The project will create a 51,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, officials said Tuesday.
The state Department of Construction Services will oversee the work.
Charter Oak is part of the Connecticut State University System and Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium, which is a cutting-edge provider of technology-based services including e-learning.”
The new administration building will house offices for the college president as well as finance and administration leaders and the information technology department, officials said.
Other occupants will be admissions, financial aid, institutional advancement, academic affairs and program coordinators.
