A kitchen and culinary retailer, Sur La Table, is opening a store at the Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton as part of a national expansion under a new owner, the company announced.
The Seattle-based cookware chain will re-enter the Connecticut market after closing its store in the same plaza in 2020.
The Canton store is expected to open in March, along with one at The Westchester in White Plains, N.Y. Another location is set to open at Bayshore in Glendale, Wisconsin, this month and another at Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, N.Y., will open this summer.
“We are enthusiastic about returning to locations where Sur La Table has previously operated in, as well as entering new markets and reaching new customers across the country,” said Jordan Voloshin, CEO of Sur La Table.
Sur La Table offers cooking classes, as well as in-store events and demonstrations.
In July 2020, Sur La Table filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was acquired by Marquee Brands and CSC Generation. Since then, the company’s profitability has improved and Sur La Table is now growing, according to a press release.
The company plans to open additional stores in 2023 and will announce those locations later.
