The First Suffield Bank–A Division of PeoplesBank, is erecting a smaller replacement branch for one in East Granby established by its predecessor.
Site work has begun on a retail site fronting 9 Turkey Hills Road, adjacent to First Suffield’s existing 3,700-square-foot office, said Matthew Bannister, first vice president for marketing & innovation at PeoplesBank, First Bank’s Holyoke, Mass., parent.
The new, 1,700-square-foot space, with a staff of four, is due to open in October, Bannister said, declining to reveal the development pricetag, citing competitive factors.
It’s one of four banking offices First Suffield operates in the region.
Waterbury’s Studio Q Architecture designed the building. Bloomfield’s Solidus Inc. is general contractor.
PeoplesBank in late 2018 paid $60 million to acquire Suffield’s then oldest lender, former First National Bank of Suffield.
