Successor named for outgoing head of statewide police credit union

After nearly eight years at the helm of the Police Credit Union of Connecticut, Wendy Tariff is preparing to hand off the title of president and CEO to Melanie Strileckis.

Strileckis, currently manager of the credit union’s Waterbury branch, will take the top spot with Tariff’s May 15 retirement. She has been with the credit union since 2005.

Tariff has led the credit union since July 2018, overseeing its growth from $23 million in assets to $45 million in assets, as well as a merger with the Waterbury Police Federal Credit Union. She also led a rebrand from the organization’s former name — the Greater Hartford Police Federal Credit Union.

The credit union, which serves law enforcement professionals and their families across Connecticut, has 2,921 members. It has one branch in Hartford and one in Waterbury.
