Subway hires new digital, information officer

Subway restaurants has hired Donagh Herlihy as its new global chief digital and information officer.

Herlihy is responsible for overseeing the Milford-based company’s global technology teams and initiatives to deliver platforms for Subway franchisees and guests.

Herlihy has more than two decades of experience leading global digital and e-commerce teams in the food, retail and restaurant industries. He previously held executive positions at companies such as Bloomin’ Brands, Avon Products and the Wrigley Co. 

Subway CEO John Chidsey said Herlihy’s background and knowledge will allow the company to accelerate its digital transformation, resulting in revenue growth and a better guest experience.

Quantum-Si appoints new chief medical advisor

Quantum-Si Inc., a Guilford-based company working on next-generation semiconductor chip-based proteomics, has appointed Dr. Michael Mina as its chief medical advisor.

Mina is an assistant professor of epidemiology, immunology, infectious diseases and pathology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School. 

Mina will work closely with the company’s executive and scientific teams to steer its research and development and clinical plans, with a goal of positioning the company as a technological leader in the understanding and treatment of diseases.

“This role allows me to translate my work in public health, immunology and medicine into action,” Mina said in an announcement.

Quantum-Si, founded by entrepreneur Jonathan Rothberg in 2013, is working to advance drug discovery and diagnostics beyond what has been possible with DNA sequencing.
