Sturm Ruger’s $1-a-gun promo aids NRA

Fairfield gunmaker Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. says it is nearly 90 percent toward its year-long goal of raising $1 million to support the nation’s leading gun lobby.

Sturm Ruger said it will soon cut a $315,100 third-quarter check to the National Rifle Association as part of its “Million Gun Challenge to Benefit the NRA.”
Sturm Ruger has pledged to give the NRA a dollar for every gun it sells during the year-long challenge.
So far, it has donated $871,200 to NRA, indicating as many guns were sold in the first three quarters of the fund drive.
Sturm Ruger CEO Mike Fifer said that with one quarter left, “we are hoping everyone will jump in and help us exceed the $1 million goal.”
