Southport gun maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. has finalized the purchase of a new manufacturing facility in North Carolina, it announced.
North Carolina officials said in August that Sturm would open a manufacturing plant in their state, the company’s first major expansion in 25 years.
The 220,000-square-foot plant is in the town of Mayodan, where Sturm has pledged to create more than 450 jobs by 2017 and invest more than $26 million. It is eligible for nearly $10 million in state incentives.
