A study by the University of Connecticut shows that 90% of graduates from the spring of 2021 were either employed, pursuing advanced degrees, or engaged in other avenues like military or volunteer service at the end of last year.
The breakdown showed that of the nearly 8,200 students who graduated in the spring of 2021, 52% were employed; 37% were pursuing advanced degrees; and 1% were engaged in other pursuits like military service. The remaining 10% were still seeking job opportunities, the study found.
The numbers are up 6 percentage points since the university’s Center for Career Development started tracking outcomes in 2016, the university said.
In addition, the study shows that 78% of the spring 2021 graduates participated in a learning opportunity like an internship during their undergraduate careers.
