Of the 396 credit card complaints submitted by Connecticut residents to the U.S. Consumer Protection Bureau, the greatest number pertained to Citibank, according to an analysis by Connecticut Public Interest Research Group.
ConnPIRG also found that Connecticut consumers, measured by complaints per 100,000 residents, were the seventh most likely in the country to file such complaints.
The consumer protection and good government advocacy group analyzed complaints submitted to the U.S. Consumer Protection Bureau from its inception in Nov. 2011 through Sept. 10, 2013.
Across the country, Capital One garnered the most complaints: 5,265. Citibank had the second-highest complaint total of 4,514 and topped the ranking in six states.
