Stratford’s Encon installs solar system

Stratford solar installer Encon installed their own solar energy project, a 100 kilowatt solar system on the roof of their corporate headquarters.

The 407 panels can generate enough energy to offset 30 percent of the company’s annual electrical usage.

Encon installed the rooftop panels to promote the use of solar energy and encourage business owners and homeowners to consider installing systems of their own, said co-owner Bill Valus.

On cloudy days, the system is still capable of operating at 33 percent capacity, according to co-owner Chris Douglas. With the use of solar energy, the company aims to both save money and lower their carbon footprint.
