Enfield’s STR Holdings said its Chinese subsidiary has found a contract manufacturer for its solar encapsulants.
The announced deal with Fei Yu Photo-Electrical Science & Technology Co. comes after STR announced last summer that it would delay the launch of its next-generation line of encapsulants, which are part of the layers that make up a solar panel.
As a result, STR announced in November that it would delay the construction of a proposed factory in China and would instead outsource its encapsulant production.
The 28-month contract with Fei Yu requires STR to meet undisclosed annual purchase targets.
