Enfield solar component manufacturer STR Holdings said its second-quarter loss deepened on lower sales and an impairment charge related to the sale of property.
STR reported a net loss of $5.3 million, or 27 cents per share, for the quarter ended June 30, compared to a loss of $2.9 million, or 18 cents, in the year-ago quarter.
The company booked $6.7 million in net sales, down from $8.5 million.
STR also recorded a $1.7 million impairment expense during the recent quarter related to the sale of its Malaysian plant earlier this year.
The company announced the closure of the plant last year.
