Louis Chenevert, United Technologies Corp. CEO, made waves last week when he said cancellation of the F-22 could result in another 2,000-3,000 job losses in Connecticut.
His comments came just a few days after UTC announced it would cut 11,600 jobs worldwide this year, with about 1,500 of those coming in the Nutmeg State.
Pratt & Whitney performs most of the assembly for the F-22 engine in Middletown, and job losses could expand to in-state suppliers should the Obama administration cancel procurements of the fighter jet. President Obama recently delayed a decision on the program until April.
