Stop & Shop confirmed Friday morning that it intends to close two warehouse facilities that service home delivery orders in the fall.
The facilities are located in Windsor and Norwalk.
A spokesperson for the grocery store chain said that the roughly 150 employees affected will be offered other career opportunities within the company.
The spokesperson said the decision to close the locations was difficult, but there will be no impact on customers, who can continue to shop online for pickup, or home delivery, after the facilities close.
“With this shift, we look forward to delivering an even better omnichannel customer experience with more options for same-day pickup and delivery, plus an even broader assortment of products,” the company said.
Last year, Stop & Shop closed five stores in Connecticut.
