Stony Creek Brewery names new CEO 

Stony Creek Brewery, a Branford-based craft brewery, has appointed Dan Shannon to the position of CEO.

Shannon has more than three decades of experience in the industry, including leadership positions in sales and marketing for brands such as Budweiser Select, Michelob Brewing Company, Michelob Ultra and Rolling Rock.

Shannon, a Branford resident, will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations.

“Stony Creek Brewery has an exceptional culture that is embodied by everyone in the organization,” Shannon said, in an announcement. “I am grateful to be a part of it.”

Meanwhile, David Morrice of Branford has been selected as the brewery’s vice president of sales. Morrice has more than 25 years of experience in the beverage industry, including as director of sales at Yazoo Brewing Company in Nashville.

Stony Creek Brewery is celebrating 12 years in business and is owned by the Crowley Family, led by Ed Crowley Sr. and Ed Crowley Jr.

Long Wharf Theatre selects new philanthropy head

Long Wharf Theatre recently announced Jennifer Crookes Carpenter has joined as its director of philanthropy.

Carpenter, a Meriden resident, has experience in fundraising for Connecticut arts and culture institutions including at Night Fall, a multi-disciplinary arts collaboration in Hartford, Hartford Stage and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. 

“Jennifer brings such a passion for the work we are doing at Long Wharf Theatre,” said Kit Ingui, managing director of Long Wharf Theatre. “Her career-long dedication to building relationships will serve our patrons well as we continue to expand on our legacy and deepen our roots in the greater New Haven community.”

Carpenter has 20 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, and she has also worked in communications, events and music retail management.
