Norwalk-based Stew Leonard’s food store chain has joined the long list of companies recalling peanut products because of the national salmonella outbreak.
The retailer says no one has gotten sick from its products. It says it recalled five trail mixes because some of the roasted peanuts in them were bought from The Peanut Corp. of America, whose plant in Blakely, Ga., is being blamed for the outbreak.
More than 1,000 items have been recalled in the salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 550 people, eight of whom have died. Connecticut officials say nine people in the state got sick but have recovered.
This week’s recall includes Stew Leonard’s Roasted No Sale Peanuts, Stew Leonard’s Cranberry Fitness Mix, Stew Leonard’s Oriental Mix, Stew Leonard’s White Chocolate Cranberry Mix and Stew Leonard’s Trail Mix.
