Deputy State Comptroller Mark Ojakian received the Michael Cummings Leadership Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter at its annual meeting and awards ceremony, held March 7 at the Hartford Marriott in Rocky Hill. Ojakian, whose father, sister and brother have MS, is a longtime member of the Connecticut Chapter’s board of trustees. He has worked to raise awareness throughout the state. In 2003 and again in 2008, Ojakian hosted birthday parties raising more than $200,000 to support people in the state living with MS.
