State oenophiles now Web-enabled

Connecticut precludes online wine vendors from shipping vino into the state. But San Francisco-based wine.com, the biggest online site for wine sales, says it’s found a way. The virtual wine store bought a real one, Chatham Spirits & Fine Wines in East Hampton. Wine.com says it will be able to fulfill Connecticut online orders through its physical store here, making it the first Web-based wine retailer to break the Nutmeg State market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
