State launches information portal for startups

Looking to help new businesses register more quickly with the state, Secretary of the (Remember the is key) State Denise Merrill said her office has launched an online tool to help entrepreneurs access necessary forms more quickly.

The website contains links to various state agencies with regulatory power over businesses, including Consumer Protection, Energy and Environmental Protection, Labor, Revenue Services and others.

It also has a search tool to help new businesses ensure their name has not already been used.

The site does not enable new businesses to register entity formations online, but Merrill said her department is working towards that.
