Administrators for CTNext said the state-backed program has awarded $10,000 grants to four Connecticut startups, including two in Greater Hartford.
The grants, which are overseen by Connecticut Innovations, can be used for prototyping, testing, development, research and licensing, will go to:
WePutTheDinDesign.com, Hartford: The company is developing prototypes of a hands-free accessory to help individuals organize and carry more.
Enviro Power, East Hartford: The company is developing a micro combined-heat-and-power generator for residential and commercial properties.
Babyation, Branford: The company will advance the first-generation prototype design of a breast pump.
Elidah, Sandy Hook: The company is designing and prototyping a generator for their electrical-stimulation electrode for stress urinary incontinence.
In addition to the $10,000 “entrepreneur innovation awards,” WePutTheDinDesign.com received $2,000 for being a judges’ favorite, while another $2,000 went to runner-up EverList for being a crowd favorite.
In addition, Elidah and WePutTheDinDesign.com each received $1,000 from the Angel Investor Forum.
CI said the CTNext program has awarded nearly $300,000 in EIA grants since early last year. Another round of grants will be announced Sept. 9.
