Stamford home energy distributor Star Gas Partners has announced the retirement of its president and chief executive, Dan Donovan.
Donovan, who has spent 33 years with the company, will retire at the end of its current fiscal year on Sept. 30.
Steve Goldman, Star’s chief operating officer, will take over as the company’s new president and CEO.
“I am excited by the opportunity to lead Star through its next level of expansion,” Goldman said.

Donovan will remain a member of Star’s board of directors and provide his services on a consulting basis for the next two fiscal years.
