Stantec, a Canadian design and engineering firm with offices in Hartford and Hamden, posted higher fourth-quarter earnings and revenues.
Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Stantec said it earned Canadian $22.9 million, or 50 cents a share, in the final three months of 2009, up from $20 million, or 44 cents, a year earlier
For the year, earnings rose to Canadian $90.9 million, or $1.98 a share, up from $82 million, or $1.78 a share, the same period a year earlier.
Yearly revenues rose to Canadian $1.24 billion, up 10 percent from a year earlier.

Stantec employs about 25 people between its Hartford and Hamden offices.
