New Britain toolmaker Stanley Black & Decker said Tuesday it will open a new manufacturing plant in Mission, Texas in early 2018.
The company has signed a lease on a nearly 300,000-square-foot facility that will make Dewalt power tool products, bringing as many as 450 new jobs eventually to the region.
“The opening of our third manufacturing facility in Texas augments our strategy of making where we sell, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to making in America and making in Texas,” said Jeff Ansell, president of Stanley’s global tools and storage business.
The expansion helps accelerate the company’s ‘Made in the USA with global materials’ strategy, he said.
