Stanley expanding in Indiana

New Britain’s Stanley Black & Decker said it plans to add 136 jobs over the next three years just outside Indianapolis, Ind., where it is investing $7.7 million to expand and upgrade a manufacturing facility.

The 220,000-square-foot facility, located in Greenfield, will produce 1.2 million Dewalt saws, drills and other corded power tools a year, Stanley said. The facility currently produces some Dewalt tools, as well as Bostitch tools, and staples.

The state is providing as much as $625,000 in hiring-based tax credits for the expansion and up to $200,000 in training grants.

The company has more than 1,300 employees at seven facilities in Indiana.
