Stanley Cup Parties at Foxwoods

After celebrating their Stanley Cup victory with a parade through Boston June 15, the Bruins hockey team went to Foxwoods for a late-night celebration of a different sort. At Shrine nightclub, the players drank a rare 30-liter bottle of Ace of Spades ‘Midas’ champagne, costing more $100,000. The bottle, one of six in existence, was double the size of the 15-liter Ace of Spades brut that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban purchased for his team after their NBA Championship victory just one week earlier. The bottle, which was signed by every Bruins team member in attendance, will be on display at High Rollers and later will be raffled off to benefit the Bruins foundation. Later the players went bowling and, the next morning, called on a police escort to bring them back to Boston in time to throw the first pitch at the Red Sox game. Pictured are, from left, Zdeno Chara, the Bruins’ captain; Shawn Thornton, a winger celebrating his second championship, and Foxwoods President & CEO Scott Butera.
