New Britain toolmaker Stanley Black & DeckerĀ is closing a Baltimore facility and cutting 79 jobs, The Baltimore Business Journal reports, citing a notice with Maryland’s labor department.
Stanley Black & Decker plans to close a security monitoring facility on West Baltimore’s Sisson Street. The layoffs will take place in waves, starting April 1-14, and ending with a Oct. 23-Nov. 6 wave, the paper said Monday on its Web site.
The closure will not impact operations at the Stanley’s Construction & Do-It-Yourself Headquarters in Towson, Md., the company said in a statement.
