Oak HC/FT continues to expand its healthcare technology portfolio.
Stamford-based venture capital firm Oak HC/FT has led a $55 million Series C funding round for New York healthcare workforce training company Stepful.
Founded in 2018, Stepful operates an online training platform that helps health systems recruit, train and retain workers for healthcare careers. The company said it has graduated more than 32,000 healthcare workers and serves more than 35 health systems, including Mount Sinai, Ochsner Health and Providence.
Stepful said it plans to use the new capital to expand partnerships with hospitals and launch additional training programs in nursing, respiratory therapy and medical imaging, while further developing its artificial intelligence capabilities.
Oak HC/FT is led by co-founder and Managing Partner Annie Lamont, the wife of Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont. The healthcare- and fintech-focused investment firm manages more than $7 billion in assets and has invested in about 100 portfolio companies since its founding in 2014.
The round also included new investors Foresite Capital, Hearst Ventures and the Citi Impact Fund, along with several existing backers.
