Stamford has beat out New York City as most expensive commercial real estate market, according to a report from the Building Owners and Managers Association International.
BOMA data from 5,300 buildings in 115 cities showed a total operating expense of $16.11 per square foot for Stamford, well above New York’s $11.80. Grand Rapids, Mich. took third place at $11.16, followed by Newark, N.J., and San Francisco at $10.34 and $9.66, respectively.
Total operating expenses include utilities, repairs and maintenance, roads and grounds, cleaning, administration and security.
