The Stamford PR and marketing firm, founded in 1998, says the deal adds digital and AI-search capabilities as it repositions for a media landscape where getting found by artificial intelligence matters as much as traditional search rankings.
KNB Communications, a Stamford-based public relations and marketing agency, has acquired Roketto, a British Columbia digital agency, while using the deal to announce a rebrand under the new name Sōvyn.
Sōvyn said the acquisition adds generative engine optimization, or GEO, web design and development, digital advertising and inbound marketing capabilities to the firm, which has focused primarily on healthcare, life sciences and technology clients since its founding in 1998.
GEO has emerged as a
new competitive strategy for businesses trying to get recommended by AI platforms rather than ranked by traditional search engines.
Roketto has operated for more than 15 years, working primarily with software, business-to-business and technology companies.
Chintan Shah, who now holds the title of president and CEO of the rebranded agency, said the acquisition was the “perfect milestone to unveil” the name change.
“Traditional PR and marketing tactics are no longer enough to rise above the noise,” Shah said. “Companies need integrated strategies that connect scientific storytelling, search visibility, AI discoverability, automation, and digital engagement.”
The name Sōvyn is derived from the Greek word “sophos,” meaning wisdom, combined with a Latin-inspired suffix meant to evoke innovation and intelligence. The agency’s new logo draws on the peacock feather as a symbol of wisdom and vision.
Existing clients of both firms will continue working with their current teams during the transition.
