Silver Golub & Teitell LLP has released a free application that allows attorneys and the public to monitor Connecticut court case activity in near real time.
The Stamford-based litigation firm announced Thursday the launch of SGT Docket Rocket, available on desktop and iOS mobile devices. The app sends alerts when new filings, court orders or docket activity occur in cases users are tracking.
The firm said it is offering the app at no cost to improve access to court information and help attorneys represent clients more effectively.
“SGT Docket Rocket was built to solve a real problem that every Connecticut lawyer faces, and we decided early on that the solution should be widely available,” said Peter Dreyer, managing partner of the firm. “We decided this should be a free tool — one that helps lawyers do their jobs better and gives the public clearer, faster access to information about their own cases.”
The app monitors the Connecticut Judicial Branch website for publicly available docket activity and delivers alerts based on cases users choose to follow.
The Judicial Branch currently offers an email notification feature, but it only sends emails at 9 p.m. each night — not in real time as documents are filed — and the emails do not identify the nature of the filings or orders.
The project was led by Dreyer and partners Sean McElligott and Ian Sloss. New York City-based Majestyk developed the app for Silver Golub & Teitell.
The app is available at www.SGTDocketRocket.com and in the Apple App Store.
