Stamford Health last week announced the first of several Stamford Health Medical Group practices to open in a new building on its campus.
The first practices, located in the Stamford Integrated Care Pavilion (ICP), available for patients are the Stamford Health Medical Group electrophysiology, cardiology and thoracic surgery offices. During the next several weeks, additional medical group practices and hospital-based services also will open.
The 97,000-square-foot ICP was developed by Minneapolis-based MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate LLC, a national developer of ambulatory care and medical office buildings, at a cost of $41.7 million. The facility, in which Stamford Health Medical Group and independent physicians will lease space, features three levels of clinical offices atop a 382-parking space deck – all connected to the new Stamford Hospital by a glass-enclosed skyway.
When fully operational, the ICP will provide access to various specialists and services, including colorectal surgery; gynecologic/oncology; additional heart and vascular services including cardiac surgery, structural heart program and cardiac testing; imaging and lab services; infectious disease care; internal medicine; neurology; obstetrics; physical medicine; pulmonary function testing and urology – as well as Stamford Health’s wound care and hyperbaric medicine center, which will move to the ICP in January.
MedCraft and Stamford Health began this concept when the hospital system was developing its campus revitalization plan. The result is a new, multispecialty, one-stop healthcare destination that is an extension of the hospital’s commitment to patient-centered care, according to the release.
