A former industrial property near Stamford’s Glenbrook train station has sold for $1.625 million, months after the city approved a 19-unit apartment building for the site, according to land records.
Greenwich-based Glenbrook Apartments LLC purchased the property in late August. The company is linked to Michael and Veronika Gjushi, according to state records.
The seller, 492 Glenbrook Road LLC, received approval from Stamford’s Zoning Board in January to build the apartments. Its proposal calls for a three-story, 27,567-square-foot building on three parcels totaling 0.44 acres at 488 Glenbrook Road and 37 and 41 Parker Ave. A one-story building formerly owned by Associated Water Industries would be demolished.
The proposed building would have three one-bedroom apartments and 16 two-bedroom apartments. Three units would be reserved for households earning no more than 50% of the state median income, according to the application.
Michael Gjushi said in a LinkedIn post last month that he looks forward to breaking ground on the project.
“We’re excited to branch into new markets,” he wrote, “where the path from investment to long-term ownership is a little more straightforward.”
The seller is tied to James Maffucci of Southport; Jared Schulman and Joseph Schoonbeek of New Canaan; and John Sullivan and John Antonelli of Stamford. The group also owns two buildings next door at 492 Glenbrook Road that contain 16 apartments and ground-floor retail.
The property at 488 Glenbrook Road was appraised at $903,490 in 2025.
