The Town of Stafford on Monday dedicated three new solar arrays on its town library and fire department facilities.
The panels, paid for with money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will save the town $6,480 per year in electricity costs. After the installation of the solar panels have been paid off through the electricity’s sale to the town, Stafford can then buy them for $1.
The ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at Stafford Library was attended by U.S. Representative Joe Courtney, D-CT, and various officials from the Stafford government and energy committee.
