The University of St. Joseph is getting a two-year, $147,125 nonprofit grant to open a teaching and learning center on its West Hartford campus.
The planned Center for Teaching and Learning will expand professional development opportunities for the school’s full- and part-time students and adjunct faculty.
The school said Wednesday the grant is from the Davis Educational Foundation established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Stanton Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets Inc.
The center’s full cost wasn’t disclosed.
USJ Provost Michelle M. Kalis will oversee the center, officials said.
