The Hartford operator of New England’s largest Catholic hospital on Monday opened a comprehensive medical facility in Ellington, its ninth central Connecticut satellite.
The 15,000 square-foot facility at 137 West Road includes offices for primary-care services, access to health specialists and laboratory services.
Family practitioner Dr. M.P. Saiyed runs the center whose staff also includes two medical assistants, a lab technician and a part-time health educator.
Saint Francis Care is the parent of Hartford’s Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
“Ellington is a growing community, and Saint Francis is eager to serve this market by providing residents state-of-the-art health services close to home,” said Saint Francis President and CEO Christopher M. Dadlez.
Saint Francis’ other satelitte care centers are in Avon, Bloomfield, East Hartford, Glastonbury, Enfield, Rocky Hill and West Hartford. It also has a gastroenterology center in Windsor.
