The recently formed Western Connecticut Healthcare network that administers hospitals in Danbury and New Milford has added to its executive roster the former top finance chief at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.
Steven H. Rosenberg, who has more than 30 years of health care and hospital experience, joined Western Connecticut Healthcare as chief financial officer, the same post he previously held at St Francis.
News of his departure comes less than a week after St. Francis announced a proposed settlement with victims of sexual abuse at the hands of West Hartford endocrinologist George Reardon who once worked at the hospital. Reardon died in 1998.
In his new post, Rosenberg will oversee finances at Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital as well as other affiliates of Western Connecticut Healthcare.
“Steve brings a wealth of experience that will help advance agenda while navigating the changes being imposed by health care reform,” said WCH President and CEO John M. Murphy. “He has a great deal of financial acumen and shared set of values including integrity, team work and a passion for excellence — all very important to this organization.”
According to the Danbury News-Times, Rosenberg replaces William Roe, who left Danbury Hospital this summer and was later charged in August with wire fraud and two counts of interstate transportation of stolen money.
