St. Francis Hospital has awarded Connecticut construction company O&G Industries a $2 million contract to renovate the eighth floor oncology center and other space on the floor.
The project includes a complete renovation and upgrade of the eighth floor oncology wing, which includes 38 private inpatient oncology rooms, nursing stations, offices and meeting space. So-called swing space, areas that can be used temporarily for patients when there are more patients than private rooms, also will be renovated.
Torrington-based O&G expects to complete the 16,100-square-foot renovation in spring 2017.
St. Francis selected the project team of O&G and architect AE Design Group of Southington through a competitive bidding process.
Earlier this year, O&G’s healthcare group completed the renovation of St. Francis Hospital’s Women’s Health Center, St. Mary’s Hospital’s cath lab No. 2 and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s operating room No. 1.
