Four major health systems, including St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, recently went live with Surescripts National Record Locator Service (NRLS) to give providers access to clinical records for 230 million patients and four billion nationwide patient visit locations.
NRLS now reaches patients in all 50 states.
With Surescripts National Record Locator Service, the healthcare organizations have access to patient data that aims to help them make faster decisions to ultimately improve patient care, Tom Skelton, CEO of Surescripts, said in a news release.
As part of the Carequality framework, NRLS automatically queries Carequality implementer locations, allowing providers to electronically share data across technology platforms and networks. It allows providers to identify and share patient records across disparate systems and geographies to focus more time on delivering quality patient care, the release said.
