South Windsor’s SS&C Technologies has donated $1 million in cash and software to a school in Indiana — the home state of CEO William Stone and a place where the company has been expanding of late.
The University of Southern Indiana’s business school will name a new accounting program the SS&C Investment Accounting Accelerator, which will teach students about the valuation and reporting of complicated asset classes, the company said.
The donation comes several months after SS&C announced it would expand its presence in Evansville, where the college is located, by leasing a second office facility.
The company said it added approximately 100 jobs to Evansville between 2011 and Nov. 2013.
Stone has said a number of states have tried to recruit SS&C to relocate. He told the Hartford Courant in October that a move is under “active consideration,” though not imminent.
