SS&C bags U.N.’s credit union as a client

SS&C Technologies Holdings Inc. sells dozens of its back-office financial software packages to customers, achievements it regularly touts in news releases. Many are unremarkable, but its recent collar of the United Nations Federal Credit Union as a client is noteworthy.

Not the least of which is that few folks outside the UN probably are aware that it has a credit union – a rather large one, in fact.

According to SS&C and the credit union’s homepage, the 66-year-old UNFCU, in Long Island City, N.Y., has $3.8 billion in assets and 100,000 UN staffers and retirees, and their families as members from some 200 countries and territories on six continents. Its branches are in Rome; Geneva, Switzerland; Vienna, Austria; and Nairobi, Kenya.

The credit union signed on to replace its current investment-reporting software setup with SS&C’s Camra brand system. Pricetag wasn’t disclosed.
