Specialty Printing — a family-owned printer of pressure-sensitive labels and tags for grocery, medical and logistics clients — on Thursday marked the ribbon-cutting of its expanded Windsor manufacturing complex.
Located at 123 Day Hill Road, the manufacturer in May received an $11.5 million loan from Advantage Capital.
At the time the loan was announced, Specialty Printing employed 215 people and was expected to add up to 50 jobs. A spokesperson said Thursday the company is “in the process of hiring up to 50 new employees” but did not say how many have been added to this point.
Specialty Printing relocated to the 330,000-square-foot Windsor facility from its original facilities in East Windsor in 2022. At the time, it said it would occupy 220,000 square feet in Windsor, with room left for expanding product lines and anticipated growth.
Thursday, the company said the loan has enabled it to move into the larger manufacturing facility and purchase new equipment, “along with having additional working capital to fulfill new customer orders.”
