South Windsor officials have approved plans for a new indoor youth cricket and multi-sport training facility at 140 Commerce Way.
The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on the proposal May 26 and approved the application during the same meeting, according to the town’s website.
The project involves converting an existing industrial building into an approximately 8,000-square-foot training facility focused primarily on youth cricket development, while also allowing space for baseball drills, pickleball and badminton activities.

According to application materials, the facility will include cricket training lanes with turf flooring and protective netting, bowling run-up areas, fielding and catching zones, and strength and conditioning space. The proposal also includes outdoor cricket practice cages behind the building for seasonal use.
The applicant, Gani Ganisshan, sought a special exception approval for the property, which is owned by William St Holdings LLC, which purchased the property in 2022 for $836,000, records show.
The facility is expected to operate weekdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
