Sordid Affair

Tales of affairs, exotic trips and mood swings dominated last week’s divorce proceedings between United Technologies Corp. board chairman George David and his estranged wife, Marie Douglas-David.

Douglas-David had rejected an estimated $43 million payment she was entitled to under a 2005 post-nuptial agreement, instead pushing for a $100 million pay day.

David, 67, the former UTC president and CEO, and Douglas-David, 37, were married in 2002 and filed for divorce several times in the past few years.
