A program to help bring solar energy to homes and businesses in New Haven has selected RGS Energy, a national company with a presence in Connecticut, as its exclusive installer, the company said this week.
Solarize New Haven, part of the statewide Solarize Connecticut initiative, is a community-supported buying program that uses discounted pricing, town supported education and outreach, competitively selected installers and flexible financing to reduce the cost of solar for New Haven homeowners.
Homeowners interested in taking advantage of the discounted pricing can sign up starting Wednesday Oct. 18, when an information session will be held at the city’s Hall of Records on Orange Street from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program runs through March 7, 2018.
Installation will be provided by the company’s 31 Connecticut employees and based out of its Bloomfield warehouse, RGS Director of Sales Tom Champlin said.
The company has installed more than 25,000 solar energy systems for homes, businesses, schools, government facilities and utilities across the country since 1978.
